Account Manager

Synopsis

The Account Manager is responsible for:

  • Maintaining a high level of customer service and for the creation of trade volume and payment of trading fees on their client base.
  • Maintaining regular contact with all of their clients in order to improve their knowledge of each client’s business, so that trade volume can be maximized.
  • Initiating transactions and liaise with clients in order to achieve pre-set monthly and quarterly goals.  Strong administration skills are required.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Service provision for approximately 100-150 members
  • Trade analysis
  • Research, recommend and activate profitable trading options
  • Follow up ideas and member’s requests
  • Assist members in self-promotion throughout the Bartercard network
  • Generating referrals for member’s business
  • Developing member trust by continually deepening understanding of the member’s business and finding new ways to expand their business
  • Being reactive to the client’s needs, with a same day turnaround
  • Being proactive by contacting clients via service calls at least once a month with business solutions and proactive trading opportunities
  • To encourage and assist members in buying and selling through the Bartercard system
  • Actively promote and market clients within the Bartercard network
  • Increase trade volume while maintaining a high level of service to clients
  • Be proactive in creating innovative methods and vehicles to enhance client trading
  • Work closely with clients in educating them to understand their maximum capacity for trading
  • Conduct professional and thorough Members Packs, to ensure clients are capable of trading from day one
  • Record daily trading with clients on the contact database
  • Keep abreast of product knowledge on a local, national and international basis
  • Profile new member’s business
  • Execute necessary steps to provide consistent profitable trading
  • Develop Bartercard product knowledge and educate members
  • Conduct personal visits, to solve problems, create opportunities and extract financial information where necessary
  • Initiate personal visits to members to discern and discuss trading strategies and solutions so that their business flourishes
  • It is expected a TCO be traveling to clients an average 1 day per week (maximum 2 days per week).
  • Develop loyalty and advance customer service, which meets or exceeds member’s satisfaction
  • Market the member’s product and services, exceeding member satisfaction via all Bartercard promotional opportunities including member’s events and mail-outs
  • Build the membership through co-operation with the sales force, by continually prospecting for new traders
  • Ensure all new details concerning members are accurately recorded on time
  • Provide high customer service standards by being active, friendly and reliable in all our trading
  • Develop personal and professional skills through participation in ongoing educational programs
  • Plan all activities so that you exceed customer expectations and develop professionally

Secondary and Adhoc Duties

  • Assist other teams in meeting goals and objectives
  • It is expected that you maintain your product knowledge and keep abreast of any changes to company policies, systems and processes
  • Take personal responsibility to develop self and seek further training, knowledge and skills that may be required to meet the ongoing requirements of the position
  • Undertake cross functional training as requested by your manager
  • Continual education of clients and their staff of the many uses/benefits of Bartercard
  • Build and maintain rapport within your own client base and all clients of Bartercard
  • Ensure a positive profile and attitude is maintained of Bartercard as a whole
  • Active participation in the Trade Coordinator meetings (on occasions you may be asked to chair the meetings and give training sessions)
  • Ensure clients maintain a high fee payment history and put DDR’s into place
  • Regularly set goals and evaluate personal progress
  • Constantly think ‘trading’
  • Liaise and assist clients during transactions when required
  • Maintain and actively promote a team environment within the brokerage and within Bartercard, whilst working towards a common goal
  • Attend and be actively involved in Bartercard functions
  • Promote and encourage clients to attend all Bartercard functions
  • Maintain a professional standard of dress code and behaviour
  • Support administration staff when necessary
  • Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner and maintain a sound knowledge of Head Office administration procedures
  • Work in accordance to the minimum set standard of work hours
  • Possess a current license and a reliable/presentable, fully insured vehicle
  • Generate leads and referrals to expand the Bartercard network

Education Levels and Qualifications Required

  • Formal qualifications in business related fields are preferred, unless previous work experience is sufficient
  • 5 years business experience. A background in sales, customer service or running own business is advantageous
  • Previous office administration a definite must.
